Grand Finale

After seeing Matt's recent post from the Tetons it reminded me of a similar capture I made while there in late September. This powerful storm cell moved across the Teton range and brought frequent lightning strikes with it, unfortunately I wasn't able to get a shot with the lightning though.

Thanks for looking and please view the LARGER version!

What a powerful scene. The light-dark-light layers in the image contrast nicely. The clouds are epic. Processing looks pretty perfet to me, the larger view realy shines- very 3D. :toast:

I really appreciate your use of B+W, especially since this image has a softer glow, lacking real sharp contrast. It's great you caught a massive storm cloud with this landscape, without making this all too dramatic, and intense looking. At least those were my impressions... The large version is even better!

Very dynamic image. This image works really well in B&W. I like the way the white in the clouds and the white in the plants compliment each other.

Zack,

Awesome! What a fantastic sky and cloud arrangement - very dramatic! But what tops if off for me is the glow of the sage or rabbit brush. The tonal range and contrasts are just beautiful here. As mentioned, the large view rocks!

Outstanding b&w.

Lots of energy in this image. Add the excellent b&w conversion and you've got a winner. Large version is intense.

Wow! Would hardly even need the mountains for this. Only thought might might be to up the contrast (and drama) in the clouds to the left of center.

Beautiful! I might consider adding a bit of contrast to the mountains for a bit more pop in the center of the image. Might even add a touch to the clouds, but both are very minor suggestions. Sweet image!!!

Nice composition and B&W tones generally, but the depth and energy of those clouds - wow.
