This is from a rainy day at the Denver Botanic Garden. The poppies were huge, vibrant and swaying in the breeze. A great opportunity and an interesting challenge.

Great color and detail and the water droplets add that extra touch. I've never seen these at the Gardens here, so I need to look closer next time! They are a cool variety.

Hi Russ,
A great use of colors and light. The depth of field is perfect. A well presented crop allows eyes to remain fixed on the beautiful red popy. This is a really excellent photo, and is a good example of flora photography. The red tones are beautiful and your composition with the contrasting light and colors and the water drops works so well. Very nice! :toast:

Russ, I find oriental poppies difficult to photograph because of their black interiors. You did well with this one. I like the striking red color against the contrasting green bg., and the center is nice and sharp.
