Yucca and Tree

Another shot from Buffalo Creek Wildlife Management Area. The sun was up a little high in the sky, around 10:30 am. But there was a thin layer of clouds over the sun defusing the light. Your comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Another good one, Richard. I enjoy your landscapes from this part of the country which always seem to conflict with what I expect Nebraska to look like. A nice composition and your exposure dealt very well with the light for that time of day. I like how the procession of larger plants leads one back into the photo and a sky that doesn't hurt the image at all. Nice.

Very nice Richard. I enjoy the scenes you show us from your area. This has a pleasing and nice natural feel. While looking at your larger version it made me feel like I was there. I like the sky too.

I like this one very much. The light is strong but does not feel overly harsh. This is a very balanced composition. Very nicely done

I like the composition and the clouds. The colors look a little off to me and I might think about cloning out the vertical blade of grass at the bottom.

I like the combination of the yucca and the evergreen in this landscape.

Hmmm ... You don't indicate as much, but I'm wondering if you used a polarizer or a GND filter. The sky looks unexpectedly dark on the right. It's a minor nitpick, but I too would suggest cloning out the horizontal blade of grass along the bottom, and perhaps also the one extending up in front of the tree.

That plant looks menacingly prickly, and it belongs in the fg. Sets the tone for the rest of the image. Nice work, Richard.

Richard,

Nice image. I'll echo Nancy Lea's comments, pretty much sums it up for me. You did well to capture this and not let the otherwise hard and direct light ruin the image.

I like the juxtaposition of the yucca and the tree. I think this is well worth a revisit at one of the magic hours of the day. Still a pretty scene and a nice addition to your collection.
