I like the nice bud you found with a stem in a matching color! Don't how much chance that bud had of blooming after that snow, though You mentioned doing quite a bit of photo enhancing to get this look. . .I assume you are referring to the blurred background? It certainly does help to highlight that single bud. I wish there was more room on the left and possibly a crop from the right to get rid of the cut-off stems, except then you would lose that nicely snow-covered leaf.

The red bud and red & green leaves contrast nicely with the snow. If you've got the space it would be nice a bit of space between the sepal and the edge of the frame.
