The mood is wonderfully captured. The darkness giving way to the smoky blues and pastel sky just screams pre-dawn hours. Nicely captured and very well composed

The layers here and tones are beautiful. I actually like this without sky as well to focus on the blues. Could see brightening it up just a bit to bring out more detail in the foreground landscape, but the darkness makes this moody, so take it with a grain of salt.

Grand vista emphasized by the varying layers of mountains and a perfect foreground. Beautiful!

Great layering, I almost want to crop out the bright sky to keep the eye from going there too quickly, but it adds a nice contrast to the rest of the scene.

All the layers and shades of blue or exquisite, Bill. I like the pastel orange sky as a counterpoint to the blue. A capture like this certainly makes getting up early worth while. Thanks for posting this.

Really beautiful Bill. Love all the layers and the colors overall are very good together. Front to back excellence!

This is just lovely. I haven't spent any time in the Smokey Mountains. Is Imperial Point an iconic landmark? If you hadn't mentioned the location, I'd have guessed that this was somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, not the Smokey Mountains. I would tend to agree with the suggestions to crop out the sky, or at least the brighter sky at the top. I'm looking at this on my notebook monitor. So maybe that is a detriment. But to me it looks like the foreground could benefit from a slight shadows adjustment to bring out a little more detail.

Jim: The title is a play on words; this is in the Grand Canyon from the north rim. >=))>

Great title. That's really a nice way to make the most of a smokey situation.

Great layers--wish i could see the fg monument a bit better, but that's a minor complaint. Cool shot!

Absolutely love the design of these receding layers, Bill and that amazing dawn blue. I could easily see cropping the sky out entirely and have this all about the blue ridges and forms. Fantastic as it is though.

Pretty amazing scene Bill, love the layers and color, I also would like to see it without the sky, but either way, beautiful.

That's a cool shot. I love the layers and blue tones. My only suggestion is to lighten up the foreground rock a bit to see some more details.

With or without the sky, the layers in blue are nice. I could see lightening up Mount Hayden to bring it out more.

The layers of color, tones, and the haze in the far ground make this very beautiful, Bill! Love it.
