Going With the Flow

I spent nearly all of my time last week exploring (or re-exploring) the canyons and dry washes up in the east side of the park. It was a great week. I was really trying to capture the essence and the variety of the dry washes of this area in autumn.

i really like the composition of this image. The lines in the rock just draw you into the image. The yellow leaves add a very nice element. Fine image.

I like how the rock wall draws your eye in and also the pop of the yellow leaves. Makes me want to explore...

I'm pretty sure you were in Zion NP for this one. I've seen hundreds of walls like this there and they are all attractive. Nice image.

I really like the strong lines on the RHS as they recede into the background. The autumn foliage balances this out nicely.

Jim, This is really nice. Your comp with the lines in the wall leading you back into the image and the fall color works (and looks) great. Very nice!

Awesome comp Jim. The way the lines on the wall lead behind the tree and along the floor works perfect. The fallen leaves are a nice icing.

Jim, the wall is everything in this image from my POV. More to the point is the placement of it from the leading RH edge toward the back of the frame. It truly makes a strong path into the scene as well as providing perspective to the area being captured here.

Incredible, the way the striations of the rock wall create motion and energy. Warm light and colors are nice, too.

Really like how you have accentuated the lines of this wall with your use of perspective. The lines rush the eye back to the wonderful autumn color.
