You have a really good feel for light John and you can certainly see it in this image. It's pretty hard to explain but it has a certain softness even though the image is tack sharp. Maybe some special light out there in the Pacific Northwest? Very nice!!

The subtle light you captured here is wonderful John, and gives this a nice sense of depth. Those cirrus clouds add a nice touch.

Gorgeous scene John, it just has a very appealing mood, along with the beautiful light and natural color. Beautifully seen and presented. Oh by the way, love the fg grasses.

John, you do such a great job of capturing fall in the PNW. The foreground grass textures are a great lead in to the contrasting blues and golds. Very nice overall.

Gorgeous light, lots of details come together, yet I like the most the arrangement of lighted foliage and clouds.

The viewing angle gives the trees strength within the image. Beautiful fall colors.

No complaints at all here. Without the foreground grasses, this shot wouldn't be very interesting. Well done!

Really nicely done, John. I like the light on the trees. As an option, I think it would work well with a bit cropped off the bottom.

I like the strong gold / blue contrasts here and the foreground grasses anchor the scene nicely. This is a relatively simple, yet elegant, composition.

The array of warm, autumn tones set against the blue sky really makes this sing, John. I also thoroughly enjoy the details in the grasses. Gorgeous image.
Hope you are thinking about a camera that has an additional zero next the D80. The wonderful details and textures that you bring to your images deserve more mp's. Just a thought.

I really like this. The fall colors are great here, and I love the flow of grass in the fg leading towards the main cluster of vibrant trees.
