Red-breasted Nuthatch

Taken a few days ago in foggy dim lighting and I used ISO 500 which gives me a noisy image, usually. I won't be surprised to have some critique about that and hopefully I haven't overdone the sharpening. I want the critique as you see it and know it helps to create my own standards.

Olympus E-5
50-200mm f 2.8
@ 200mm
1/80 sec
f 6.3
-0.3 ev
no flash
spot metering
ISO 500
manual focus
tripod

Thanks for critique and comments.

Nice capture. I like how the bird is positioned with the lighter background 'framing' the subject.

I like the overall comp Charlie. Nice to have the seed in the beak. To me the image is a bit dark. In the larger image the bird seems to be a bit "smooth" and lacking of fine detail.

Nice comp- and as Ron said the seed is a bonus. It's very difficult to get sharp detail in foggy conditions and I think one does best with less sharpening than more IMO.

I like the texture of the bark and nice eye contact from the nuthatch, to me the bird is too centered in the frame and I would crop some from the left and the top. Nice image Charlie :toast:
