Big Horn Up Close

This big horn sheep was just off the trail leading the Grinnell Glacier in Glacier NP. I zoomed in to get a head shot & really liked this crop of the circular horn with the one eye in the frame.

Well seen Wick. You came up with a unique image showing interesting detail on the ram's horn as well as a strong over all design. The shadows are maybe just a little bit dark for my taste, but that's just me.

Hey Wick,

Well...no one should complain about lack of detail in this shot! Nice curl here - you don't see too many rams where the curl goes past the eye. I like the idea here...that strong circular composition is compelling. My eye ran into a bit of a compositional paradox here - after following the curl my eye went to the subject's ear next (I'm guessing because it's in the middle of the curl), which isn't a particularly interesting thing compared to the eye. This is just an observation - not a nit. Barring major genetic manipulation of this species I can see no way to avoid this!

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Nicely composed with outstanding details. Could processing bring the eye out of shadow as the maber there is fantastic.
