Pallid Bat
by Charlie VanTassel
I went out last night to a new location in Anza Borrego State Park to photograph Bats. A few different species are found there. Here is one of the more common ones.
In my last post I had a couple of people ask me about the setup. If you go back and take a look at my last post I give some more details.

This Bat work of yours keeps getting better. This is the best water reflection yet. As I said before, your efforts are well worth the results. This guy seems to be flipping you off with that tongue action however.
Charlie you are a real inspiration for the benefits of trying new and unproven techniques with our photography and stretching the boundaries of our comfort zone . . . Thanks.

Very cool shot - nice example of the image type (and quality) one can produce when ingenuity and creativity meet with the latest technology. Even without the reflection this would be an amazing shot - with it it's just off the charts.
Super job Charlie...

Is this because it’s dark except for the flash? So it’s like the flash is the exposure time?
Or is it 1/200 of a second?
Congrats on the Weekly Pick for this category too.
Congrats on the fine WP!
