Light coming from the right, so some reflected light from a reflector used to fill from the left.

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/22 (F/16 would have done, forgot to dial back from a previous shot), 1/50 Sec, ISO400, Diffuser+Reflector and Tripod.

Thanks a lot for your comments on Dahlia Abstract and let me know what you think of this one.

Another winner Ram. Lines, color, light, all winners.

I like it. Terrific sharpness and color. I find purples difficult to get right. I usually prefer a centered square format for shots like this. The tinge of yellow towards the upper right makes the slightly off center rectangular format a perfect choice.

Great color, comp, and dof. I like the slightly off-centered comp a lot! :toast:

Love it! Sharp detail by the bucket! I don't think you lost anything at f/22. This is just perfect to my way of thinking! I particularly like the flow of light to dark, accented by the off-center comp. :toast:

Nice use of lighting. Your description on how you made this shot is helpful, I'm sure, for many of us trying to improve our floral work.

Great sharpness Ram. The radiating petals work really well. Nicely done with the light and reflected light.

The comp is perfect, Ram, and the colour and the graded lighting absolutely delightful. Wonder about cloning out the tiny white specks on the top centre petals - a very small nit because this is a masterly image.
