Starry, Starry Morning

Something different. The early morning sun was backlighting these rain/dew drops. The sunstar refractions are 100% natural (no filters or PS manipulation) other than using a narrow lens opening (f32) to enhance the refractions. The bg colors are from other backlit wet dahlias in the garden (I think). I've captured close-up sunstars in dew drops before, but never in this size and number in one image. I have some reservations about the comp, but I had to work fast and could not touch the dahlia. Dahlias and sunstars, Fellows Riverside Gardens, 2/23/12 at 6:45am (single image), NikonD700, 180 macro, ext. tube, iso 500, f32, 1/6 sec., tripod. Larger image included. Comments, suggestions, and questions welcome and appreciated. :wavey:

Beautiful picture. The sparkle of the dew drops brings the green to life. :wavey:

Interesting technique, the use of f/32 worked well Scott.
The "sunstar" effect steals the show overall, so the comp works fine for me :wavey:

Theses diamonds glow in the thumbnail, Scott. Excellent creativity and there is emotion in this picture.
