Griffon vulture

Griffon vultures have been reintroduced in the Italian Alps and near the Cornino lake there's a feeding point. I studied the area on Google Heart and spotted a place on the top of a mountain right behind the lake from which I could photograph these wonderful birds from above.
Here is the result, on the green background of the wood on the mountain slope.

Canon 5d mk3 and EF 500mm f/4.0 L IS USM

Your planning has certainly paid off. I like the topside view and the larger image shows the eye contact well. Very nicely composed as well. :toast:

Hello Riccardo, i like the composition and the topside view as well. I heard about the reintroduction of this huge raptor in Valle D'Aosta but nothing about other part of the Alps an this makes me happy.

Riccardo, I like this image! The larger version shows reasonable detail on the bird. That background is a big plus, flight pose wonderful, lighting good. Again, looks fine to me.
