Hancock gorge is one of the star attractions at Karijini National Park in Western Australia. It is very narrow with extraordinary layered rock walls. At points, deep water flows down the middle of the gorge. You can swim, but to keep dry you have to climb along the sides. It’s an adrenaline rush clinging to a slippery, polished rock shelf, especially with expensive camera gear on your back upping the ante!

The angled rock brings me right to the distant flame. Lots of mystery with the red and blues - stellar! Always worth investing in good waterproof bags for this kind of adventure. :toast:

Nice! The strong lines of the rocks suck me into the image.

Thanks Harry, I've got a few dry-bags but forgot to bring them!

Exactly what Mark said, I almost felt horizontal gravity! Great capture. :toast:

Beautiful capture, and lovely detail. My only nit is with the samll size. I wish this had been posted at the 720 pixel long side limit (and even better, with the larger version option used too). Those details are too pretty not to be viewed large.

Thomas, this is great! Agree with Bill that a larger post would be nice. Looks like there's a lot to explore here with a camera.

Tom, this is a pretty cool looking shot! How about posting a larger image? You can go 720px on the long side. Nice work.

The texture in the rock layers on the bottom and sides make this feel like a zoomed image, wheeeee (and I like that.) I do find the darkness in the top middle and right distracting, wonder if you could bring out a bit of texture there? Lovely shot.

Thomas, Wish I could see it a little larger, but this looks really nice!

Very cool! I see some nice color play of warm and cool in the rock layers and would definitely bring that out a bit more if that fits your limits.

Very nice shot Tom. I hope to visit Karijini myself in the next couple of years.
