Plumbeous Warbler

This photo was taken shortly after the previous image. Our guide, "Dr. Birdy" who works for the Country's forestry division easily spotted and pished this bird to the fringe of the trail when there fortunately was a bit of light. I saw this species several more times during my trip to Dominica but never with decent lighting or out in the relative open.

The Plumbeous Warbler is only found on Dominica and in Guadeloupe

Nikon D300s 300mm F4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/6.7
1/125s
ISO 800
-.33 EC

Cropped to about 70%, minor clone of a OOF twig coming out of the birds head, minor noise reduction on everything but the bird which of course was sharpened in CS5 on 27" iMac

I'm with Richard, excellent detail on this guy and the pose is very nice. I like the surrounding habitat as well. Lighting also looks good. Nicely done.

Even though the jungle looks pretty thick here, you were able to get a fairly clean shot. Sharp where it counts.

Excellent image. The pose and upward gaze makes it for me. Very appealing.
