Coleus in flower
by Carolyn Derstine
Coleus are an annual with colorful leaves that I plant throughout my shade beds to add spots of color when nothing else is blooming. I usually pinch off any flowers to force growth into the plant but by this time of year I just let them go. The background is another Coleus plant behind the flowering one.

Very fine work.
The very strong contrasting color makes the image for me.
