I spent last weekend in the North Cascades eating berries and taking pictures.. it was delicious

The mist and sun played hide and seek all day.. a true photographer's paradise! Lots more on my blog.
Please view LARGER - then you can see some of the ripe Cascade Bilberries in the lower left corner.
Thanks for your thoughts!

The distorted trees on the left side are a bit too much for my tastes, but the pov looking down really adds to the depth.
The bent trees don’t bug me. Is this lens distortion or strange growth from a wind-swept hillside?
I would not expect this much lens distortion so close to the center of the frame.

Morris / Richard - the angle of the trees isn't so much lens distortion as perspective distortion. It's the same thing that happens if you look up at a forest canopy with a wide angle lens. In that case all the trees point in; here they all point out (looking down a 45 degree slope). So, those kinds of distortions are unavoidable, really. If you try to "correct" that type of distortion you end up with other weird perspective issues, and you end up losing a lot of the view.
is a real plus. Well composed and strong FG to BG. I had no idea that one
could get this kind of color in the mountains in Oct.
