Olympus E-5, 300mm x 1.4TC, tripod
f4.5, 1/2000, ISO400

This handsome fellow was calling from a rock outcrop behind the Visitor Center on Antelope Island, in the early morning light.

80% of full frame. Selective sharpening.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Neat to get the Chukar calling, Jim - especially this time of year. I also like that you found it on a rock that's not bright white - not easy to do on the north end of the island.

Nice one, Jim. Great pose and the slope of the rocks fits well with the pose of the Chukar.

Nice pose and great detail. Too bad he wouldn't take a few more steps so you could have gotten the rest of him !

Love these guys! Nice that you caught him calling early AM- and on a very neat perch too boot. Gotta love shooting on Antelope and from the looks of this shot Jim the weather was favorable. :toast:

I love the light bringing out the more subtle colors on the birds' body. Like the calling pose.
