Emerald Pool from above

I just returned from a honeymoon to Dominica (3rd time there - first time since becoming interested in photography). This is a photo of Emerald Pool from above - a very popular destination in Dominica which we had all to ourselves (thanks to it not being the high season). In absence of having my tripod (which was back at the hotel) I opted to brace against a fence and utilize the timer method on my camera. The main attraction of this site (aside from its easy access) is the refreshing waters in the emerald looking pool (the water is crystal clear, but the pool looks green).

Full Frame

Minor adjustments in ACR, with some burning of the highlights in CS5 on 27" iMac

Well framed. The scale on this is not obvious until one looks at the stair-steps leading to the pool. Congrats on your marriage! :toast:

Congratulations! The pool framed with lush foliage works compositionally. I do wish that some of the glare was better controlled with a polarizer but I think you can still do some of that in post production especially around the right and bottom areas.

Really like this secluded inviting image, nicely composed.
Congrats on your marriage Luke, I heard it was coming.

It's a bit too chaotic for me. The waterfall is relaxing, but all of the foliage in the foreground outweighs it and grabs my attention. Perhaps a selective focus with the waterfall in focus and the foliage a bit blurred would help.

Congrats on the wedding.

Congratulations Luke! I think you comp works pretty well here and it has a nice lush feel with the surrounding leaves. I do think a polarizer would have helped the light on the leaves however. Looks like a great place and nice you had it to yourselfs.
