Never Give Up

Rambling along a creek in the region of Wechsel, a mountain in Lower Austria, I found this fallen tree with new trunks arising from the old one. I had the chance to take the shot just when rain has stopped, leaving lush colors.

This definitely tells a story of survival Peter. Beautiful lush greens and good use of the diagonal branches to lead the viewer into the scene.

Good subject, Peter. Diagonals make this a dynamic composition for me. I like the way the green-covered branches help emphasize the direction of the flow of the water.

I had to look at this a while to decide if I liked it. In a sense, the strong image of the creek dilutes attention owed to the subject, the fallen tree. The more I look, however, the more I like it. A little tension is not a bad thing. :toast:

This is an interesting subject and you portray it with a good composition. I like the role of the water, particularly how it adds structure and interest in the lower part.

Interesting in so many ways. Has a strong sense of truth and is so artistic at the same time. Well done.
