Another first timer for us on our recent trip to Uganda (a bird watchers paradise)
This one was spotted early morning in quite poor light in Kidepo National Park, unfortunately it refused to perch anywhere nice!

Lovely bird with good colors. I actually like the perch. I think the bright highlights behind him can be brought down some and be less distracting. You are always in the most amazing places. I'm jealous.

The bird is fine - exposure, sharpness, light, posture. The split dark/light background is somewhat distracting to me.

Stunning bird and like the Acacia perch. A few steps to the right and you may have had a nicer background.

Thanks everybody, I agree the BG is not the best! Unlike its near relative the Lilac Breasted this bird seemed in our somewhat limited experience not to be a great poser and flitted around constantly, next time!
