Sunrise on St. Ann's Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Some beautiful light on a cold, windy, cobble beach on Cape Breton Island's sunrise side in early October. This was one fantastic morning with such changing light (BTW- My little avatar was taken that same fantastic morning).

Canon 40D
Canon EF-S 10-22mm at 10mm
ISO 200 2.5 sec f/16
SR Reverse Grad 2-Stops

Thanks for looking. An oldie but one of my favorites. I'll be visiting this place once again in less than two weeks armed with my Canon 5DM2 and Pentax 67II with Velvia so just hope the weather cooperates. The weather can be extremely awful, but the light can be unexpectedly, and extremely beautiful.

Eva, I can see why this is one of your favorites. Another stunningly beautiful, yet quiet-feeling image. Beside the obvious attraction of the sky, the beach details are amazing, and the structure visible in the water -- even with the long exposure -- looks just right.

Eva, I like the composition, the soft pastel colors, and the wave action. Good luck getting new images here!

Oh yeah… this one just glows. The sky is the best I have seen in some time. I just love how the reverse grad keeps the edges of the sky bright.

Beautiful color here Eva. Looks like it was a wonderful dawn. I like your comp with the isolation of the large rock in the water.

Very pretty Eva. It's hard for me to imagine cold weather in early October, especially when this looks so warm. Beautiful reflected color.

Very well captured all the way around. The light is really sweet and colors make the image. I also like the composition a lot.

When I first looked at this, I thought "this doesn't feel cold." But then I noticed the scene has a split personality with to left seemling cool/cold and the right being much warmer. Nice fun image with great colors, exposure, and comp. I do hope the weather cooperates for you.

Eva, this is a real eye catcher. Just beautiful. No constructive criticism here....I wouldn't change a thing!

A really beautiful scene. The sheen of pink on the water is lovely. I wonder if that main rock is a little too central as it doesn't seem dominant enough a subject. I can't definitely find a crop that is an improvement either.

Eva, there are stunning colors, lighting and details for me in this image. Your choice of shutter speed shows me an impressive interplay of sea and shore.

I just think whether vignetting the right border might help me to keep my attention within the frame. But that might be only a matter of opinion. I admire and enjoy your work as it is.

A real beauty. The sense of vastness coupled with this magical light is really something. I especially like the colored rim lighting on the stones, it makes the image extra special.
