The outline of these trees against the steam from the hot springs and at their base the solidified runoff... nope its not snow. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens.

I love everything about this image, except maybe the BG(sky). Might of tried to darken just a bit to give some contrast. The subject matter is killer.

Thank you for the suggestion. I had already gone in the other direction and taken all the color out of the sky. I will attach a repost of one blue sky and another of white.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Wow, Patricia, this is different, and very appealing, definitely your second post in my opinion, like it very much. Well done.

I agree with John about the sky. Other than that, it is awesome!

I like how you've used the very simple sky to place emphasis on the foreground texture. The trees tie everything together, and give a nice sense of contrast.

I like this. Beautiful detail and simple composition work so well together. I like your original post just fine. The main elements of the image standout very nicely against the neutral sky.

I prefer the original Patricia. It places more emphasis on the tress and foreground. The version with the bluer sky distracts from the main subject. The white sky version is too stark and once again draws attention to the sky and not the main subject.
