Psychotic rose 1

This started out as a tight zoom on the center of a rose that was covered in water drops. I knew when shooting the rose, that I would probably end up messing with it a lot. I never imagined coming up with the base result. The whole effect is way beyond my normal comfort level but something about the base image and this more "advanced" image catches my eye. I hit the original image with some Topaz filters, then used a symmetry action to create the expanded image. I then inserted the base image into the center of this image.

Rob,

This is a fascinating image to me. I have tried some of this work with less than desirable results so whenever I see an image like this it inspires me to try it again. I like the symmetry, vibrant color and the water droplets take on a whole new dynamic- almost edgy in their appearance. Very well done in my book.

What a great "space kaleidascope" look, Rob. It looks somewhat dark and broody, but maybe that's the look you want. There are eyes everywhere and those little green regions are a nice visual change of pace.

Love the psychedelic effect, Rob ! Don't fully understand the processing, but the result is brilliantly striking with a superb blue/red colour combination.

Rob, Great colors and geometry to this. I especially like the bit of green as a counterpoint to the reds and blues. Cool image.

'Tis fascinating and more than a little spooky. Great work on this one, Rob, it's impressive. Congrats on the Pick, too!

Thanks everybody. I think Mark's "space kaleidascope" analogy works well, with my thoughts going to cosmic.

I like the final result, though I'm having trouble deciphering the original image. Nothing wrong with that. I just find it hard to relate to this.
