Horned Lark

My son and I found a horned lark nest along side the trail we were hiking on in the alpine country of Olympic National Park this July. We watched the parents bring food into the nest for a couple hours, shooting pictures as they came to the nest. One time after feeding the chicks the male hopped up on this nearby rock for a preening session.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Love it Ken. Nice exposure on what looks like tricky light. The background colors are pleasing and set off the bird very well. You captured the subtle colors, pinks and browns in the bird very well. No nits. :toast:
