Wildflowers on Oregon's Rowena Plateau at sunset. View a slightly updated version (larger and on a dark background) at the Purchase Print link above.

This is a shot from earlier this year, from my first day shooting at Rowena with fellow NPNer Jeremy Cram and a few others. These RAWs somehow escaped me until today, when I was scraping the archives - and this image turned out to be much better than the one from Rowena I posted earlier this year (which I don't believe I ever put on NPN).

Canon 5D, 17-40L, 2 exposures blended for dynamic range and DoF

A lovely picture, Alex. The flowers are well defined, and the perspective is well established. My one small nit is not in the photo, but the title. You elaborate in the subtext the what and the where. But the initial look says "Rowena II", and I am clueless at that point just what that means. As for the photograph, I would love to have taken it!

Gorgeous shot! Really love the foreground-background composition, subject matter and the menacing sky. On point.

Very dramatic photo Alex. The contrast makes this just jump off the monitor and the DOF and color depth are great. Great work!

Thanks everyone. Phil, duly noted - I'm terrible with titles! I changed it to "Quartet".

Wonderful view and overall contrasting colors, Noriega. The main FG flower looks to be in perfect shape for it's closeup too.
