Into the Storm

Came across this one in my archives from 2010.
It's a 3-image pano-stitch of portrait landscape oriented images, to create a "vertorama". We were driving into this storm on a particularly emotionally stormy day in our lives. We made it through on both counts.

Techs:
Canon 1000D with 18-55mm IS @ 34mm
f8.0 @ 1/80 SS @ ISO-200

The bright landscape and the long leading line of the road really sing here.

More of a square than a vertorama :) Really love light here with the dark sky and golden light on the foreground.

Morkel, The light here is fantastic!...and those storm clouds are awesome. There is some wonderful depth to this and it is really cool how those clouds feel like they are closing right in on you. Good work with your composition too. Nice work!

Ominous sky and streaks of storm light, with a great lead in. Wonderful capture Morkel.

Love this! The road leading us into that wonderfully lit yellow landscape and ominous sky. Good stuff!

Glad you made it through both storms.

That's one hell of a sky! If this were mine, I'd crop a slice off the bottom to put more emphasis on the clouds and less on the road, while still keeping the road in as an important element.

Thanks Peter and Marsel.

Marsel - would you say crop to the point where the middle white line comes out of the bottom RHS corner?
