Painted Pink, May 29th 2012

Rose bloom, from a neighbours garden :) I just love the way the bright pink, looked like it had been brushed on, the ends of the rose petals.

Camera DMC-TZ3
Focal Length 15.7mm
Shutter Speed 1/320 sec
Aperture f/4.7
ISO/Film 100

Very nicely done, Stephen ! The petal colours and textures have come out well, and I like the slightly off-centre composition. The odd dark spot on the petals might be cloned out - a matter of personal preference really.

I like a rose and this is near perfect ...fresh and just beginning to open. No real nits...save for the fact that there are so many portraits like this...that it does not make the next tier of distinction or 'special'. That said, it is well done!

Stephen
This is a gorgeous looking image and the rose is pristine. Nice work.

The perfect rose specimen, portrayed to its best advantage. If you have no object to cloning out the surrounding brown stem or dead leaf on the bottom left I think it would improve the image.
