Fire Haze at Grand Teton

by Andrey Antov

Gallery: Man & FaunaPosted September 14, 2012645 views12 comments
A group of canada geese going in towards the water at Grand Teton National Park. The haze in the background was due to the devastating fires in the year of 2009.

In a weird way, there was some beauty in the scene, besides the choking smoke smell.

Thank you for your comments.

How sad about the fire, but it sure makes for a beautiful image! I love the various shades of blue & the cascading lines of the mountains...the geese are perfectly placed!

You seem to bring natural disasters where you go, but you come home with some amazing photos. Another winner!

Good comp and really nice DOF. The ever lightening layers is quite interesting.

Beautiful capture and God has a plan, just not always ours. Wildfires here in Texas the past few years has taught us all of the dangers. :wavey:

Nice image with lots of character. Fires are another topic with lots of opinions. Have you been to the areas since the fires? How is the new growth? Animal populations?

Talk about making lemonade out of lemons! It can be so disappointing to arrive at a gorgeous site and have the air all smoky. This is a magnificent image, love the composition and blues. The geese make the whole thing very unique with all the layers of mountains receding in the background.

Nothing weird about the beauty in this scene! Fine job capturing the graduated colors and range details. The geese suggest that life goes on. The crop aspect also enhances the image quite well.
