Rose Bud, October 14th 2010 - I apologize for all the archived photos. My first DMC-TZ3 was stolen in the spring of 2011. I found another one, used, the winter of 2011/2012. This one, broke, in May of this year :( Most of the images, I have posted on the site thus far, are from my first 4 months shooting - Sept - Dec 2010. I will try to learn what I can from these older images, so that when I can afford a new camera some day, I will be able to shoot a little better. :)

Captured this pink rose bud, after a brief rain shower :)

Minor brightness and contrast in PS

Panasonic DMC-TZ3
Focal Length 46mm
Shutter Speed 1/200 sec
Aperture f/4.9
ISO/Film 100

Stephen - I like what you were after but I think the execution falls a wee bit short here. I really like the refractions in the water drops.

Its a bit too tight in the frame - more space around would be nice. The reflected light from water drops in the background hurts the background rendition a little bit. Also, there is something covering the reds in the bud closer to the viewer - I think it hurts the aesthetics a bit.

Personally, I select the bestest specimen for photography. Its tough with Roses as the ratio of success is usually small.

Thanks Ram!!

this is the stuff I need to hear! When I get the new camera and get out shooting again, I can apply this all. :)

Thanks again!

Ram,

Did you take a look at the macro shot "Curly". Is this what you mean by "Shooting Through"?

Thanks. :)
