Beautiful image, Stephen. Any idea what the bud is?

No... I'm not sure. It was taken my first fall shooting, at the Royal Botanical Gardens, in Hamilton, ON.

I wish I had heard of image stacking, before taking all these shots. I could have gotten that entire bud in focus, rather than just the drop. I also notice now, a bright spot on the top-front of the bud. I may have to rework this one a little.

I understand what photographers say, when they want to see the entire subject in focus. During the past two years or so, I have chosen smaller subjects, but then usually I focus in on just one tiny detail, that stands out to me. You will notice this in probably 80% or more of my images. Using a shallow depth of field, to highlight just one detail, that has caught me eye. The rest of the subject, provides frontal and rear blur and just adds framing to that little detail.

I have no photography training... so maybe what I am saying, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!!

This is well done, Stephen. Both the bud and the water drop are nicely separated from the bg. I wish the bud was a little more visible or prominent in the image since it is the main point of focus.
