Clouded Sulphur

Clouded Sulphur - Colias philodice on a cluster of Dianthus.
I used flash in bright light, heavy on the < camera bias.
Still have the wings backlit somewhat, while keeping those whites in check. I also did some color replacement PP at the petal edges, they have turned brown with the summer heat.

This guy has a very mysterious look with the theatrical lighting you gave him! I like the backlighting, and I like how he is coming out of the dark! I think some of the wilted bloom at the bottom could be cropped out as it is slightly distracting.

The lighting here is insane, Howard!! It really emphasizes and enhances the beauty of the subject. Kudos! :toast:

Great detail in the BF. I especially like that green eye. Your fill flash did a good job of controlling the contrast in the flowers and BG. Very well done.

Great job, Howard. Expert use of fill flash. I particularly like the backlighting on the wings. I think Eirini's crop suggestion has merit, but I do like the bf's perfect position in the frame. :toast:

Beautiful detail, Howard. I like the cascade of blossoms the butterfly is perching on.
