2nd Honorable Mention - People, Objects & Places Photos

3200º K

This classic bulb was hanging on it's cord from the ceiling of the main room in the Mortuary in Bodie, CA. It was a rare opportunity for me to roam around inside the building.

I really like the feel of antiquity in this. Great detail in the bulb and a wonderful reflection of today in a long ago past.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was that it is a very sophisticated image of a very unsophisticated subject. I like all the subtleties in the background, the silver of the bulb, the glimpse of the scene out the window - it makes you go deeper into the image. And then you see the little bits of spider web on the left side. Very well done Jeffrey.
