Japanese Anemone

Something different than a sunflower! Japanese Anemone is a late-summer blooming perennial of which I have several kinds blooming now in my flower beds.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/4.5 for 1/200 sec. ISO 400. Tripod mounted, on-camera flash. It was a windy day so needed higher ISO and flash to get a higher shutter speed for focus.

Like this a lot! Beautiful flower surrounded perfectly by the buds.
The flower looks a little "flashed" to me- I'd suggest toning it down a bit.
Lovely!

Great colors, Carolyn, and I like the composition. The unopened blooms add a nice touch. Lovely image!

Hello :) Gorgeous photo! I love the way the lavender, pops off, the green background. The composition is pleasing and the framing by the buds is great!
Thanks for sharing.

Unique to me, as I have never seen them. Gorgeous flower, interesting structure, and your shot is put together so well.

Carolyn:
Nice composition with the bloom supported by the semi circle of buds. Might tone done the highlight of the bloom a little.

Carolyn, After seeing your photo, I looked around in our local garden but could not find one in good shape and bud orientation. This is excellent I really like the symmetry in the buds below which adds so much to the aesthetics !

Beautiful shot. It does look a little flashed. I think it is slightly under exposed for the ambient light but that could be easily adjusted.. :toast:
