Orange Glow
by Stephen Porter
Orange Glow, September 15th 2010
I tried to capture the glow, from the sunlight, coming through the orange petals.
Minor brightness and Contrast adjustments.
Panasonic DMC-TZ3
Focal Length 46mm
Shutter Speed 1/125 sec
Aperture f/4.9
ISO/Film 100
I was asked to post the camera settings, for my photos. I could not afford an expensive camera body and macro equipment, so I built an attachment for my camera, that included cardboard tubing and lots of duct tape. The above settings, may or may not make any sense since the attachment changes just about everything. :)

Comments
13 comments1. I wish that the front petals were a bit brighter and a bit sharper.
2. I wish that the bloom was full frame so that there was not an empty space on the right side.
BTW, even though you are new to photography, I have found that you will see a huge jump in your skill if you comment on lots and lots of other photos here at NPN - even if you just tell the other photogs what you like and don't like. Your skill will improve as you look at other people's photos critically also.
Keep em coming!

In addition to what Nathan said, it would also be nice if you shared some of the technical information related to the shot.
Lovery orange glow. I like the comp overall but agree with others about the RLC been a little dark and the green does not quite fit with the rest of the frame.
