Thanks again for all the wonderful comments on my previous post. Here is another from Cottonwood Lake in the Crazy Mountains, taken a couple of weeks ago. I found this small puddle in one of the rocks and tried using it to my advantage  This is 2 shots blended for dynamic range.

Thanks for looking and please view Large!

Nice shot, Zack. The reflection on the surface of the puddle is very interesting.

I found the bottom part a tad too bright, though.

What i like the most here is the reflection in that small pool in the foreground. looks quiet interesting. The bottom part of the image is a bit too bright for me.

This works very well and the scene is quite enticing. Classic stuff.

The reflection makes the image for me.

I would pull back a bit on the brightness. Otherwise an excellent composition.

Zack, I agree that it looks just a bit bright in the lower part, but it is still a beautiful scene. I love that small pool with the reflection! This has beautiful color and those clouds look great. Very nice work! :toast:

I like it, it is a beautiful scene. The reflection adds some extra dimension at the bottom.
I do not know if that makes sense: I feel the composition is a bit "open" on the left side. As if cropped. My eye wants to go left and follow the lake.

Beautiful mountain scene Zack. I really like the reflection of the peaks in the small puddle. The wildflowers look great as well. Looks like a nice place to spend and evening!

Nice scene and good eye to spot the reflection. The blending is maybe a bit too perfect. Could maybe see burning down some of the foreground to except for the reflect in order to make it a strong focal point in the scene.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will try darkening the lower half a bit. I am away from my pc monitor and have been processing everything on my laptop monitor.

here's the thought that comes to mind as i look at this. get close up to that puddle, really close to encompass the majority of the range in the reflection - surrounded by rock and flowers and the lake ... just reporting the thoughts as they went through my mind ...

Fabulous shot Zack. I love the reflected mountain and sky in the rock puddle, so much so that the top half of the image pulls me away too much from it. I could see just a square crop of just the bottom section so my mind has to imagine what is above from the small reflection given. Just a thought. Great shot!
