This is a black and white conversion of my last post. I think it works pretty well in black and white. Which do you prefer?

Thanks for the comments and advice on the color version. I used them to improve the final version.

Canon 5DII; 14mm.
30 sec. @ f/2.8; ISO 1600
Tripod in knee-deep water, "painting" light with an LED headlamp.
2 vertical frames stitched by hand and converted in CS5

P.S. Well, I just posted this and notice that the thumbnail looks like nothing but a black square. Please see the LARGER PHOTO to get a better idea of what this really looks like. AND as Eva suggests, if possible, please look at these "after midnight" scenes in a darkened room (Thanks Eva).

Wayne, though I like both images I think I'm going to have to go with the color version!

You really need to view this in a dark room to appreciate it Wayne. Wonderful as is but I would mention to view with lights out. I am actually leaning towards this view compared to your last. Both are enjoyable however.

Wow, tough choice! I think both are excellent, but I lean a bit toward the color version.
Marvelous work -

colour version for me, wayne. The b&w loses some of the defining features that are perceptible in the colour version.

I'd prefer the color version though this one is also good. But the color is much stronger

Hi Wayne, definitely the color, but the B&W is still very nice.

I almost did not look at it because of the thumbnail...then I got curious! This is really nice, but I have to say I like the flair in the color version!

+1 for the colored version over this one, IMHO.

Wayne, Wow! this is fantastic. I didn't see the color version before seeing this one, but I checked it out in your gallery. Both are wonderful, but I will go with the color version as a favorite. I just got back last Friday after spending most of the week on a small lake in northern WI. Both of these put me right back there as they look and feel so much like where I was. Nice work!!

Tried to view the larger version in a total dark room. The result is good but I have to say prefer the colored version.

Both are nice, but I would definitely chose the color version as my choice. The color of the canoe really jumps out and makes the image for me.
