Nikon D5100 w/ Micro 200mm lens + 2 SB800 flash units
ISO 400, F8, 1/100 sec.
RAW image processed in PSE10; cropped to 75%
Location: Tucson, AZ - Saguaro NP West

By the time I found these BFs this morning it was already warming up quite a bit, so it was challenging to catch them sitting still for long. I did manage to get a couple images that I liked though. Comments & critiques welcome!

I really like the lightness and the colors of this, and it's very sharp. I also like the curves of the plant.

Yes, chasing and capturing butterflies is challenging, but fun, huh? Nice capture here, Tonia. I like the comp and colors in this image. I like the bright light and the nice bg. My only question is the sunspots along the top as they are a little distracting, but they give the image a bright, airy look, so I could go either way on whether to clone them.

Cool POV and comp, are those eggs on the twig below the BF? I might of cropped alittle off the right where the branch gets OOF but otherwise looks great.

Snouts are so neat. Good job on the capture and processing.

Thanks everyone! My Photoshop skills are not the greatest so I dare not try to clone out the bright spots, though I do wish they weren't so visible.

Love the tonality of this, Tonia - the bg is delightful and helps set off the pale colours of the butterfly.
