In a Fog

Taken on Back River in Boothbay Maine in the mid 90's. During the summer months, fog rushes in off the Atlantic up this tidal river just at sunset, creating this surreal scene.

Mamiya 645
Mamiya 80mm
Kodachrome

Thanks for having a look.

Eva ...quite a bit of depth here and love the mood ..dont know if a tighter crop with removing he sky on top and some of the bottom would make this a killer ..well done anyways..

Nice mood, Eva. Agree with the suggestion of cropping the top.

That is one magical moment you captured, Eva! You could also crop the sky as it competes with the great bottom half. But, the background clouds do give a context of where the fog came from. Great work to get this.

Thanks all for your comments. Besides the fog, the silver lining is another thing I like about this scene and don't think a crop works as well IMO. A personal choice of course.

To me, this is both beautifully surreal and delightfully confusing. I keep getting the impression that this is a mountain scene with the fog and the water slipping off an unseen waterfall into the deep shadow of an immense valley. (Must be the landlubber in me, not being able to recognize an ocean view?) In any case, I find every inch of this essential.
