Watching the sun rise

Not sure what this bug is (lightning bug?) but I liked his perch on the sunflower petals looking towards the OOF sunflower. It looks like he is watching the sun rise!

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/5.6 for 1/640 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Edit: This is a soldier beetle, sometimes called leatherwing. Thanks to Peter for ID!

Looking at the large version, you did a really good job on the focus and I love the soft BG. Nice comp, all around a great photo.

This is a soldier beetle (Cantharidae) in the genus Chauliognathus, Carolyn. They're sometimes called leatherwings.

More info is available at http://bugguide.net/node/view/246

I like your composition a lot.

Love the color coordination between the bug and the flowers and the concept. Does look like it's watching the sun.
