Wotan's View

From near Wotans Throne off the end of Cape Royal, this sunset was enjoyed. This image is a hand-blend of 3 images: 2 for depth of field with fore and backgrounds, and a third for exposure of the sky. I have had difficulty in the past getting the junction between the sky and horizon to look presentable, so hopefully this is better. Feel free to pick nits.

This is just exceptional Doug. The blend looks great and the light is magnificent. My only minor nit is there seems to be a few spots from sun glare. One towards the top of the sky and another slightly below the sun and rim. A quick clone should fix it.

The blending looks good. Beautiful colors and light. I agree about the sunglare. Otherwise beautiful shot.

Thanks Peter and Bill. I was so focused and zoomed on the blending that I did not even notice the flare spots. Fixed the original, and I also touched on the brighter line above the right ridgeline trees.

Your choice of foreground helps add depth to this beautiful scene, and I don't think it violates Stan R.'s Pet Peeve #11.
In fact, I find it interesting in its own right.
I like the side view very much, and the light is terrific! You did a great job in keeping the exposure in check and the blending is just about perfect. No nits from me. I think that this is one of your best, Doug. Onward to 'Arizona Highways' this year!

Very nice work on the blend, and the colors are excellent and quite natural looking. The whole exposure with the blend feels right, too. This just might need to be printed very large!

Excellent blend and wonderful colors. The vertical comp with strong FG make the image.

No nit picking from me. What's not to like about this shot. Warm light, nice blue clouds and the Grand Canyon. Wow. Great shot Doug!

Doug, the blend looks perfect and it's a glorious scene. The nice light in the foreground balances well with the low intensity sunburst.
