Couldn't help but notice Richards' mule deer photo in an area of RMNP which looked similar to where I photographed mule deer bucks in 2010. I like Richards' photo better than mine. But wanted to post mine so I could compare the two.

I like the feeling this engenders, and would have liked to see it larger to assess detail. If this is not a large crop, I would think you could pull a little detail out of the eye in post processing, to give it more impact. The combo of the tree on the right and the diagonal rock "pillow" for his head make for nice compositional enhancement.
