A single drop

Unlike many areas of the country we have been having a good amount of rainfall this summer. After a shower I found this single raindrop on a tiny grass-like leaf of a Blue Star flower. More leaves are blurred in the BG. Very simple image but I think simple things can be quite beautiful in their own way.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens plus ext. tubes. F/5 for 1/6 sec. ISO 200. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Yes, simple but beautiful. I think, Carolyn, we're in the same age group based on some references you've made in comments to things from your youth. This image reminds me of something my sister used to say when we were kids. It went: "Call me a drip." "Okay, you're a drip." "Well, a drip is a drop, a drop is rain, rain is nature, nature is beautiful, thanks for the compliment." Ever hear that one? I probably haven't heard or thought of that in, well, let's just say decades. Just came to me looking at this image.

Ha! That's a good one, Scott! I can't say I ever recall hearing that before but I like it. Sounds like a wonderful way to annoy an irritating sibling.

This is lovely. the multi-colored drop sings against the bg.

This is very nice Carolyn, so interesting with the only color other than green being at the tip of the unfurled leaf and in the "drip" itself. Makes me pause and look at what is in the reflection for a while.

Nice! It looks like there is a little person on the right side of the drop!
