Subdesert Brush Warbler

I was pleased to get this one reasonable frame of a Subdesert Brush Warbler as it bathed in dew on the foliage of a dense thicket at Ifaty, Madagascar. This species is confined to spiny scrub in far south-western Madagascar.

Canon 7D, EF500mm f/4 + 1.4x, tripod, ISO 400, f/6.3, 1/400, full frame.

The warbler's ability to blend in to its environment is extraordinary and probably the reason why this image hasn't been viewed and commented on as much as it should have been. Nicely captured and presented.

Good get Simon - if it's anything like other skulking warblers you've done well

Wonderful detail in the large image, I like the eye contact, nice job in getting this difficult shot.

Nice catch, Simon. Great eye contact and the dappled light helps convey the feel of the habitat.

Great find, nice details on this hard to shoot species Simon.
I agree with Dennis, the filtered light works for this habitat & species..
