Spring mix of Bluebonnet and Wild Verbena, Central Texas.
Not a "planned" shot so to speak. I was going through my bird files and found it misfiled. I was actually set-up for birding when I panned over and snapped it..
F/11, 1/400th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x ext.
5:32pm and hazy sunshine. March 29th 2012.

Nice landscape extract, Howard. I like the way the verbenas seem to fly across the frame - a lovely counterpoint to the blue flowers.

Great little splashes of color Howard. Maybe a little crop from the top would bring the flowers more into being the subject.

Howard:
Lovely splash of colors here. Overall a beautiful scene. The bg near the top is a little distracting; perhaps a severe pano crop may fix the issue.

Gary & Robert - I pulled this out of the frame from the existing original width, and composed to show the maximum # of flowers without "clipping" or "chopping" any out.
I realize your suggestion to crop out the top may have merit, but I looked at the overall image and decided it worked this way. In the end it's subjective & my call. I do appreciate your comments as always of course..
If anyone else feels the need to pile on, please by my guest

I like the alternating pink and purple colors, Howard. The hazy sunshine light worked well. I think I agree with the previous crop suggestions.

Nice natural flower arrangement! I don't really agree on the cropping suggestions, but that is just my opinion! I think it is fine as is.

A compromise - I shaved a bit off the top to minimize the BG exposure topside..
