This is really nice. Love the tree shapes here and the reddish colors against the pale greys. Interesting shot. Thank you Mark.

Great image, Mark! I like the "tree design" that you highlighted in this photo. I am curious how large an area this is; hard to get any sense of scale with this shot. Looks like it could be an aerial shot. . .or maybe just a picture of rivulets. Irregardless of the size, I like your creativity in this image and it certainly fits the theme well.

Yeah, the scale on this makes one think. I have seen this universal pattern at about every imagineable scale. Around here, I have seen these a few inches across on the beaches. They are found a few feet across at low tide in estuaries. I have seen this same pattern in the desert with plants growing down the ridges. I imagine the Mars mission going on right now may find something like this. This is a good way of saying, "the water is gone". I also like the color/monochrome ambiguity.

Great photo. As do others, I am also curious about the scale, although since you said 'into the valley" I am assuming this is large scale. The barren look lives up well to the drought theme. I especially like the 'speckled' background of the plateau which makes a great 'sky' for the 'trees'.

Love the "tree" shape patterns and the monochrome scheme adds to the feeling. Like the others, I too am intrigued by the ambiguity of scale here :toast:

Sorry for the delayed reply, been away in the bush, no mobile coverage, internet or TV, ........... bliss
This was taken in Namibia, whilst I was about 100 feet up a sand dune and the scale is about 40-50 yds across.
