Spilled Paint Mural

I was driving around town and spotted this “spilled paint” mural on the side of an old brick building that was once a paint store. I made sure to having the spilled paint drop into the bottom right-hand corner and have the ladder anchored in the bottom left-hand corner. Sweet spot was centered just were the paint is coming out of the can and downward into the various colors.

Image shot with my Nikon D300, manual mode, using a Lensbaby Composer Pro Double Glass, with a f/4 drop in disc. Don’t know what Lensbaby is? Read more about it in my blog article here: http://www.rickdiffleyphotography.com/2012/07/06/lensbaby/

Post processing included (Nik Software)
• Detail Extractor – Control point only on the center sweet spot.

• Brilliance/Warmth – Control points only on each spilled paint color.

• Tonal Contrast

• Image Boarder #9

Strong diagonals in an image often give impact, and the vibrant color works in concert with that very well. The Lensbaby added some interest too. Nicely seen!

Beautifully seen and presented. Love how the softness from the lens baby adds to the sense of motion.
