Goldfinch in flight

I stumbled across a bush covered in Goldfinches and only managed to get one or two shots before they all flew off. I know the background isn't great in this shot but these little birds move so darn fast I was wrapped to get a reasonable image of it in flight :)

Very nice catch, Toya. Sharp where it counts. The blur in the wings works for me and indicates the speed. Interesting color pattern on the underwing. I assume these birds move fast like the finches we have here (Alberta, Canada). We used to see similar birds in Europe, where they are called "Thistle Finch" (translated).

Like the action you caught in this image. The Goldfinch looks good, the blur of the wings adds to the overall image IMHO. Thanks for sharing.

New bird to me but very handsome, indeed. The bird is pretty sharp in the head where it counts and the blur to the wings projects motion which is good. I think the FG is good as it adds a sense of habitat to the image. BG is ok and certainly not a deal breaker. The feet are in a weird position but guess that's the luck of the draw.

The head is nice and sharp and you got a great look from the bird, Toya. Well done.

Cool flight pose, great POV, and I like the vegetation bottom Toya.
The small birds are tough, great job on this :toast:

Great flight shot enhanced by the wing blur. I love the marbled or tortoiseshell effect of the background & the bottom leaves also add to the image. Well done!
