Common Yellowthroat
by Dennis Plank
I caught this female in the same area as the Western Wood-Peweee I posted yesterday-just a day later. Lots of warblers and other birds in the area, but most of them aren't any too cooperative since there's no concentrated food or water source to attract them. This one popped out of the undergrowth and spent some time on a branch in the open. I like this pose as it is so uncharacteristic for a warbler. I didn't know their necks could extend that far.
1DIV, 500mm ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on RRS legs, f8, 1/1250, iso 640, Av mode with no compensation. Normal processing in CS5, cropped to 6.8MP. Taken at 7:48 am on August 5th.
Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.
Thanks for looking,

9 commentsThe image is very nice. Good sharpness/detail on the warbler; nicely set off against the background. Nice color harmony throughout as well.
Excellent light, colors, and details also..
No nits, - Well done!
