During my visit to Borneo I was excited to see what would for me be all new species (since I'd never visited SE Asia). Surprisingly, things were a bit quiet when it came to birds, but I did have a few nice encounters. This treeswift, which my guide liked to call "the little ninja," kept returning to this perch. This allowed me to set up and try to capture it immediately after landing, when its wings were still spread. Not much could be done about the background, which was heavily dappled with patches of sky. This was probably the angle with the least amount of said patches shining through.
I've finally published the rest of the shots from this trip, which can be
seen here.

9 commentsNice job of setting up for a capture. Great colors in the bird, good exposure and detail. The light dapples are a little bit distracting but not bad. I'm thinking you could maybe remove enough off the bottom to get rid of the white patch in the LRC but it might hurt the composition too much unless you have more room to play with. Just a suggestion. BTW, I went to see more of your images from the trip and I love the owl shots. Killer eyes. Looks like you had a great trip.
